An essay challenge: “Reasons I Like to Do the Right Thing.” List 5 or more reasons why you like to do the right thing. This contest is open to kids from 8 to 18 years of age. Submit your response on Facebook to @ chocolatestorytime.com or via email to chocolatestorytime@ gmail.com or in person on Friday, June 29, 2018 or Friday, July 27, 2018 at 4pm at La Pintoresca Branch Library. Selected entries will be posted online and authors may be asked to read their submissions in person at story time.
Celebrity guest reader and classically trained pianist, Lesley Hunter-Fiorillo, 1st runner-up in the Mrs. California United States pageant, will wear her crown and sash on June 29, 2018 at 4pm.
This is a multigenerational-friendly event, open to all ages. So come out and join us for an afternoon of stories, chocolate chip cookies by Ms. Alice (while they last!), music and a creative craft celebrating Juneteenth!
The talent and activities are organized by Betty J. Ford, Chocolate Storytime Program Coordinator Extraordinare, and crafts are led by 6th grade STEAM & Creative Arts Director, Alicia Randall.
