I want to start this passage off with a little story about a young woman named Lucy…
Lucy is a shoe fanatic. She wears a size 8 in woman’s, which is not too big but maybe a little larger than most women. There are times her friends and family come over and offer Lucy their designer shoes because they never wore them. She is always tempted to take them but she knows they won’t fit, but she tries them anyway. Once she gets her whole outfit together she tries on the shoes and they always seem to look awkward, even though the shoe size is just a foot larger. She thought no one would tell, but she was wrong. So eventually she never wears them and passes them on to someone who can really fit them.
Sounds strange huh? Its like, why take them if they don’t fit. But you know, people always want something they don’t have nor what really fits them. Most people want something others possess. Maybe they want to be like someone, sound, talk, and WALK like them so they can have their money, their car, and the attention they get. But what’s wrong with who you are? What’s wrong with the car you own, or the bus? What’s wrong with the money you earn? What’s wrong with the person that you are? Now don’t get me wrong, make that coin to survive to create limited stress, but why do you need to change or adapt to someone else.
In life, true happiness lies within your spirit; and in my life, it lies in Jesus. Even though I don’t always understand things, we are human. We are growing every day. And I want to encourage you to just be you and let go of the “I want to be like…”, and learn and love to be like you. You are beautiful. You are smart. And you are all living a life that is not on the same level as everyone else. Even though we all have one thing in common and that’s being alive and breathing we won’t and will not have the same experiences as others.
So please don’t concern yourself with “why didn’t I get the opportunity that such and such got” and just accept the opportunities that you have and will be blessed with. Thank God every day that you are able to live and thank God for giving you that day to learn and grow. Time takes you to understanding life, I hope, and understanding lets you learn to live with content. So WALK in your shoes! And leave those other sizes alone.
Stay driven my young whippersnappers and let yourself unwind to become yourself with no restrictions. Love ya!! Until next time…
