Support for Calvin Wells

April 8, 2015 Robin Salzer Robin's Wood Fire BBQ Founder-Pasadena Hot Meal Program

The future direction of the City of Pasadena is at a critical and pivotal junction. The runoff election will determine or undermine our continued pathway to success as a World Class city. With critical issues such as increased crime, city pension funding, financial embezzlement and the hiring of many new department heads is imperative that we elect experienced leaders that not only have proven leadership skills but also a visionary plan for future generations. It is for these reasons that I am supporting and asking you to support retired Pasadena Fire Chief Calvin Wells for the city council seat in District 1. I have personally known Chief Wells for the past two decades and have seen first hand his love and commitment for the city of Pasadena. District 1 is arguably the most ethically and economically diverse district in Pasadena. Add the Rose Bowl and Brookside Park to the equation and you have a district that requires the best of the best of experienced leadership, and I believe that man is Calvin Wells. From starting a West Pasadena Baseball Little League, actively supporting my Pasadena Hot Meal Program at the Jackie Robinson Community Center to being a role model for all youth to aspire to from 35 years of working through the ranks of the Pasadena Fire Department to become the Fire Chief, Calvin Wells has proven to be a powerful leader with a proven record of success. In my opinion leadership is defined not by what you say but rather by what you have done. One look at the history of Calvin Wells background and commitment in Pasadena will give a very clear indication of the type of strong leadership that the district and city can expect from his election to city council. I ask that every registered voter in District 1 exercise their right to vote and vote for Retired Pasadena Fire Chief Calvin Wells.
