By the time that you get to read this, the World Series will likely be over. I would like to be optimistic, but I am afraid that the Astros will win.
As fans, we all got to see the greatest World Series game ever! It appeared to be over several times, before the Astros finally won it. The Dodgers fought back hard, and they made us proud of them. However, the Astros were incredibly tough, and they would not be denied.
As of Tuesday, the Astros lead the Series,3-2. There are two games left to play, and the Dodgers have the home field advantage. That would normally be good news, but it is not, because they have to face the dreaded Justin Verlander. He is a merciless competitor. And he can throw a ball through a wall. There is just no way that he would allow himself to be defeated.
On the other hand, Cody Bellinger has roused himself from his hibernation and he may hit a few more home runs. That could make the difference. I will say this, the Dodgers have captured the imagination of the city to a greater degree than ever before. They have won our hearts, now they have to win two more games. Dilly.dilly!
Please don’t run me out of town for saying this, but I believe that the Astros are a better team. They have some battle hardened veterans who play hard and never give up. They lost the game on Sunday several times, but they refused to quit, so they wound up winning it.
I think that Dave Roberts has done an outstanding job of managing this team. They have had some bumps along the way. The rookies couldn’t hit, and there were times when Kershaw was not pitching well. Puig will always be a problem, and the series might be over if he could have made a catch. For his information, Willie Mays would have caught it easily. It would have been just a routine basket catch for him.
For the past few days, Los Angeles has been a baseball city. The landscape is covered by Dodger Blue. The fans have waited a long time for this, and they are hoping that their dream does not turn into a nightmare! Trick or Treat!
