Welcome to the BIG3 League!
Why didn’t I think of this? This new league gives us all the opportunity to keep in touch with the sports heroes of the past. They mixed entertainment with basketball in order to get the attention of as many local fans as possible.
Watching some of the legends still try to play basketball was entertaining, even if they cannot come near to doing what they used to do. Additionally, which is even more important, one of the leagues co-founders is Ice Cube. In my opinion, this league has the opportunity to become a successful, worldwide business.
They can earn money from the games themselves, plus additional income from television, sports clothing, paraphernalia, and movies. It is also important to point out that this league is starting with African-Americans in ownership and management roles.
BIG3 has the opportunity to become a significant force in the sports and entertainment industry. Please join me in wishing them every possible success.
I believe that I read that the lowest-priced ticket for the Chargers football game on Sunday was $135.00. To me, that was an impressive number, especially for a preseason game. It made me recall the days when the Rams were playing in the Coliseum. This was in the 70s and you could buy a ticket for as little as $5.00. I paid that amount to watch the Rams get one of their few victories over the dreaded Lombardi led Green Bay Packers. I know that this will be boring for you, but there was a time when professional sports was played for working class people. However, in today’s world, you can expect that even the lowest-priced tickets will cost around hundred and fifty dollars, plus 20 dollars for parking, and another thirty dollars if you want a hot dog and a beer. Since the games are televised, I will see most of them on television, unless I have a press pass. Sometimes, it seems to me that the team owners realize that many fans will pay whatever you charge them. The disappointing thing for local fans is that neither the Chargers nor the Rams are likely to have a winning season. The Rams may have a great Ice Cubequarterback in Jared Goff, or they may not. He was a great star at Cal Berkeley, but that does not necessarily transfer to success in the NFL.
As I study these teams, I do not see any way that either of them will have a winning season. Also for me, watching an inept team play is boring. I can survive quite nicely if my favorite team gives a good account of itself, even if it does not win. However, I feel SPORTS that it is a waste of time for me, to watch weak teams play, especially when it will cost more than $100 to see them do what they do.
We do have both the Bruins and the Trojans. The Bruins still have promising quarterback superstar Josh Rosen. They had a good recruiting season, and I think that they can reasonably expect to go to a major Bowl game. When it comes to the Trojans, I am pleased to tell you that they are fully loaded. In addition to their overall strength, they also have Sam Darnold, who I believe is the best college quarterback in football today. Their major concern is that they may score so many touchdowns that they will wear out Traveler, their superb Mascot. This gallant steed comes out of the tunnel and circles the field after each Trojan touchdown. My advice to him is to be in the best shape of his life, since he will be busy.
I think that everyone who watches the Mayweather fight will be disappointed. I am predicting that it will be a boring event, and an easy win for Mayweather. This bout does not make any sense, nor would it, if Mayweather was fighting in a Martial Arts Event. There will be many fans who will pay to see it, which proves that Barnum & Bailey were right when they said, “There is a Sucker born every minute”.
