THE NBA FINAL FOUR IS BASKETBALL HEAVEN!
It started off with what seems like decades ago. However, team after team dropped by the wayside, there are only four left. In this surviving group, the Boston Celtics will play the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Golden State Warriors are already leading their Series against the San Antonio Spurs,1-0.
I do not know about you, but I feel privileged to be able to watch the best basketball players in the world do what they do. Some years ago, the NBA introduced the three-point shot. It has changed the game, and in my opinion, made it more exciting and enjoyable. It is no longer a game for just big men. Those little guys who can make three-point shots have also become important to the success of the NBA.
Anyone who knows me is aware of the fact that I have pledged my allegiance to King James. My loyalty to him remains undiminished, but honesty compels me to say that I also admire Seth Curry of the Golden State Warriors, Isaiah Thomas of the Boston Celtics, and Kahwi Leonard of the San Antonio Spurs.
All of these gentlemen are worthy of our appreciation, since they are not only outstanding athletes, but good citizens as well. They all seem to have accepted the responsibilities that come with being famous.
Of the four of them, Isaiah Thomas is the most remarkable, since he is only about 5′ 9′ tall. Somehow, he manages to slither his tiny body through the land of the giants and then to rack up score after score.
At this point, the Golden State Warriors are playing superbly, and I guess that they have to be the favorites. Even while thinking and saying that, I am aware of the awesome competitive makeup of King James. His Cleveland Warriors are a powerful force to be reckoned with.
These games will be played before the largest television audience in basketball history. They will be seen on television, computers, tablets, and smart phones all over the world. While this is all rosy, I do have one complaint. Somehow, I wish that the NBA would require Seth Curry to keep his mouthpiece in his mouth. If he ever has an illness that is contagious, every player in the NBA is likely to catch it. Even worse, many young players are watching him and they will soon be doing what he does. So, without further ado, let the games begin!
As Columbo would say, “Just one more thing?” If you recall, little Miss Riley Curry was a big hit as the Warriors celebrated their championship two years ago with a big ceremony and parade. She sat with her father, and she charmed the entire nation. She had a wonderful time, and it showed. I have heard from reliable sources that she had even bigger plans for last year’s celebration, but the Warriors did not win the championship. Still, she did not understand that, and she was dressed in her best finery for the parade that never happened. Undaunted, she has had a serious talk with her father, and she intends to be an important part of this year’s celebration in Oakland.
