MPYD Staff, students, and supporters, gathering to celebrate another memorable fundraiser. On Saturday, April 14, 2018, Mentoring & Partnership for Youth Development (MPYD) hosted its 10th Annual Fundraiser at Brookside Clubhouse in Pasadena, CA. Every year, the MPYD community gathers to celebrate the successes of the program, and to honor those who have been dedicated members and partners of MPYD. The fundraiser was attended by over 200 community members, it was certainly an evening to remember.
This year, MPYD hosted notable dignitaries such as Congresswoman Judy Chu, California Senator Anthony Portantino, California Assembly Member Chris Holden, and Pasadena Councilmember Tyron Hampton. They spoke about their experiences of working with the students of MPYD, and the program’s evident positive effect on the student’s lives. Congresswoman Chu also gave MPYD a Certificate of Congressional Recognition for the program’s “high standards of excellence and outstanding achievements.” There was amazing energy in the air as everyone gathered over a delicious meal to celebrate the accomplishments of the program.
