On Saturday, May 12, 2018, the Pasadena Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. is sponsoring the 30th Annual Fashionetta Salute to Mothers and Scholarship Luncheon & Fashion Show at the Glendale Hilton from 10 AM – 3 PM.
Comedian and actor, Kente` Scott, will be the emcee at this year’s event. Kente` is a native of Oakland and graduate of UCLA. He got his start in comedy at the Comedy Store and has toured the country with comedy greats like Cedric the Entertainer, Katt Williams, Tiffany Haddish and more. As an actor, he has co-starred in “Antwone Fisher” and played the lead in Showtime’s “They Call Me Sirr.” He has appeared in TV Shows “ER”, “The Unit”, “In the Cut” and more. Get ready to laugh at this year’s Fashionetta as Kente` Scott is truly a jack of all trades and the master of funny.
This year’s fashion show will be brought to you by Myra Wallace of Myra Wallace Apparel Collections. Myra has shown herself to be a major player on the front line of the fashion & beauty industry, and is a trailblazer in the business world. She is the recipient of many of awards that include Woman of the Year 2010 by For You Network, being recognized for her community advocacy by President Obama in 2011 and being a front running nominee for the LA Apparel award in 2015. She is known in the industry for her Men’s Necktie line “He’s Tied Up” and her women’s line TransFormHER. The TransFormHER line has rich and vibrant colors and is truly the next generation of contemporary lifestyle apparel for women as the designs make it possible for a single garment to be transformed into multiple, comfortable, distinct outﬁts. Fashionetta is truly a fun event that will start the day with a VIP reception that will be loaded with special items, mimosas and discounted shopping with Fashionetta vendors. As the day progresses, everyone will continue to enjoy shopping with the vendors, a wonderful luncheon, the presentation of the 2018 Scholarship Award Recipients, the Honoring of the Mother of the Year Anita McKinley, a fun Fashion Show and comedy of Kente` Scott.
