Volunteer in Pasadena Program Barbecue

African American news from Pasadena - Community - Volunteer in Pasadena (VIP) program Pasadena, CA — Vice-Mayor Jacque Robinson will host a free "Kickoff Barbecue" from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., Saturday, July 20 at Brookside Park, Area B, to revitalize the City's Volunteer in Pasadena (VIP) program.

The VIP program has been on a temporary hiatus, but Robinson, who represents Council District 1, is working to bring together new volunteers and new non-profit agencies at the July 20 event.

Prospective volunteer participants must be at least 16 years old and must preregister for the July 20 event online at http://www.ci.pasadena.ca.us/District1/VIP/.

Space is limited and advanced registration is required.

Robinson is working with non-profit agencies, various City departments and local community organizations to display information at the event about their programs and volunteer needs. Volunteers will then be able to learn about the opportunities available so that they can match up their interests and skill sets with the organizations represented.

For more information on the VIP program, email Robinson's Field Representative Tina Williams at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it or call (626) 744-4444.
