Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Eta Lambda Omega Chapter presents Fashionetta® 25 The Silver Soiree: Celebrating a Legacy of Sophistication, Glamour and Service on Saturday, May 11, 2013 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Hilton Hotel in Glendale.
Eta Lambda Omega's Fashionetta is well-known within the Pasadena/Altadena and Greater Los Angeles communities as being the premier event of the season. Not only do the highlights include providing scholarships, honoring a Mother of the Year and viewing a spectacular fashion show, but there is also the opportunity to network, socialize and shop. There will be a wide variety of vendors and raffle items you won't want to miss.
Five scholarships and two book awards will be provided to high school students in the San Gabriel Valley area for scholastic achievement in the following categories:
- Most improved G.P.A,
- Business /Entrepreneurship, and
- Challenges Facing the Young African-American Male.
The Mother of the Year award honors an outstanding mother in the Pasadena/Altadena community. Past recipients include: Pamela Huley, Mary Crew, Rachelle Herbert Smith, Michele Baham, Mildred Hawkins, Dr. Reta Floyd, Dr. Druceil Ford, Evelyn Jones, Elder Ruth Maxine Wallace, Dr. D. Marie Battle, the late Elizabeth Boone and Tony Stewart. Last year's recipient was the incomparable Lena Kennedy, CEO & President of LLK & Associates, a strategic political consulting firm and a well-respected service leader in the community.
This year's Souvenir Journal will also contain a tribute to the late Vera Lee, a beloved member of Eta Lambda Omega.
Tickets are on sale now for $75.00 for adults and $35.00 for children. Ads, which will be seen by a captive audience of over 350 individuals with disposable income, are also available for purchase and start at $30.00.
Proceeds go towards providing scholarships and will also perpetuate the legacy of service of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Eta Lambda Omega chapter.

[Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. was founded in 1908 on the campus of Howard University as the first Greek-letter organization for African-American women and currently boasts an international membership of over 260,000 college trained women. The Eta Lambda Omega chapter was chartered on March 6, 1960 and has dedicated itself to serving the Pasadena/Altadena area for the past 53 years.
