For more than 35 years, Union Station Homeless Services has hosted Dinners-in-the-Park, an incredible community-driven holiday event. Every Thanksgiving and Christmas Day, volunteers purchase, prepare and serve holiday meals to all who are hungry, including homeless and low-income adults and families, senior citizens, and those who are alone at the holidays or unable to afford a holiday meal. Union Station encourages all who are hungry to come eat, and all who are able to help to donate their time or food items to this valuable holiday outreach program.
This year to create a more intimate and traditional holiday meal, complete with music and special activities, Union Station will be holding its Christmas Dinner-at-the-Station celebration on December 25, 12:00 pm at its Adult Center, 412 South Raymond Avenue, Pasadena, CA 91105.
The impact of this event in the community is huge, and this event simply would not be possible without volunteers:
Prepare Food: The community is invited to drop off prepared side dishes (safely prepared in disposable aluminum containers) at the Adult Center on the days just prior to Christmas. Visit www.unionstationhs.org/dinners_in_the_park for safe food handling requirements and an up-to-minute list of current food needs!
Donate Food: Visit http://tinyurl.com/USHSwishlist to see Holiday Wish List, and then help us gather everything we need to make a great meal.
Donate Funds: Union Station serves more than 166,000 meals each year, and provides a full array of services to help people rebuild lives. Invest in transforming a life today: http://www.unionstationhs.org/donate.php.
Become a Corporate Partner: Invest in our community and receive signage in the park by sponsoring Dinners-in-the-Park. Call (626) 240-4567 today.
