Sunday, October 23, 2011, 2 p.m. – Participants incorporate some of Covarrubias' design elements into their own paintings. Covarrubias was known for his caricatures depicting African Americans in the Harlem Renaissance era.
His work also depicted Afro-Mexicans, Afro-Cubans and West and North Africans.
This event is free and open to the public.
