Features Four Award-Winning Authors

Building on the success of last year's festival, the second Pasadena Literary Festival of Women Authors will be held on Saturday, February 6, 2010 at the Pasadena Senior Center, 85 East Holly Street, from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

The event will feature four outstanding women authors: Reyna Grande, author of Across A Hundred Mountains, winner of the America Book Award, and the recently published Dancing With Butterflies. Claire LaZebnick, fiction and non-fiction writer author of Good As it Never Was, made into a successful T.V. movie, "The Smart One and the Pretty One" and her non-fiction book, Growing Up on the Spectrum, A Guide to Life, Love and Learning for Teens an Young Adults with Autism and Asperger's. Nicole Mones, internationally acclaimed author of The Last Chinese Chef, a New York Times best seller. Marisa Silver, author of Babe in Paradise, No Direction Home and The God of War, finalist for the Los Angeles Times Book Prize for fiction and currently at work on a book of short stories.  

Expressing excitement about the quality of this year's speakers, Peggy Buchanan and Susan Long, Chairs of the Festival Committee state that these authors depict a slice of contemporary American writing.

For close to 50 years the Pasadena Senior Center, has served the community as an independent non-profit center supported through membership fees, private and business support and public sector funding for its outreach programs. Through the generosity of donors the Center continues to serve, offering a wide and diverse range of services, benefits and opportunities to members and the public.

Tickets are $75 and include a lunch catered by Porta Via. Space is limited so the public is urged to make their reservations early. All proceeds benefit the Pasadena Senior Center, a non-profit organization.
