Pasadena Federal Credit Union, the official credit union for the Cities of Pasadena, San Gabriel, Sierra Madre, South Pasadena and over 100 local companies and organizations is celebrating it's 75th anniversary by hosting a community skate event at the historic Moonlight Rollerway Skating Center.
Continuing its 75-year tradition of commitment to, and involvement in the community, this event will raise funds for a local non-profit organization.
CEO Ron Berry announced that this anniversary celebration would benefit Rosemary Children's Services, which assists more than 400 abused, abandoned and neglected children each year. The event is at 7:00 pm on Thursday, July 29, 2010, at Moonlight Rollerway Skating Center 5110 San Fernando Rd, Glendale.
"We are excited about bringing an event to our community where families can come together, get to know one another and our staff a bit better, and have fun roller skating. Moonlight Rollerway, has been a great PFCU partner through the years and seems the perfect venue for raising money for an essential organization like Rosemary Children's Services. We expect this will be a fantastic family-friendly event," Berry says.
Moonlight Rollerway Skating owner Dominic Cangelosi has been a PFCU member and credit union advocate for more than three decades and was named "The 2006 RS Gazette Rink Operator of the Year" by Roller Skaters' Gazette Newsletter. The Historic Moonlight Rollerway is the premier roller-skating rink in all of Los Angeles County and features a regulation-size skating surface and a beautifully maintained one-inch thick maple wood floor that does not contain a single nail. Many movies and television shows have been filmed there including a recent episode of Glee (www.moonlightrollerway.com).
Tickets for the event can be purchased at the PFCU branch, 1038 S Fair Oaks Ave, Pasadena CA 91105, at Rosemary Children's Services, or at the door the night of the event. Admission is $12 and includes a coupon for 2 for 1 dinner at either El Cholo Café or Dona Rosa Cantina in Pasadena.
The ticket purchase also qualifies for entry into a special $75 gift card drawing at the event. Proceeds benefit Rosemary Children's Services (www.rosemarychildren.org).
