Los Angeles, CA – On October 25th, over 450 student athletes, a multitude of parent supporters and school administrators came together at John Leichty Middle School in Los Angeles to take part and support the youth participating in the Woodcraft Rangers NVISION Basketball & Skate event. The day was filled with youth who participate in the NVISION after school programs daily from three school districts including the Garvey School District in Rosemead. Elementary and middle school students competed hard on the basketball courts while the skate competition featured all grade levels including high school students jumping from ramps to rails all showcasing what they practice daily while attending the program.

Many young students look for a place of belonging. Woodcraft Rangers creates an atmosphere that allows them to belong to a group as they collaborate, build teamwork and problem solve to compete for a common goal. Serving the inner city youth in Los Angeles, these future leaders can find their talents through Woodcraft's NVISION after school programs. "The club leaders help us get better every day. They help me gain confidence and trust in my teammates," said a participant student from Garvey Intermediate School. A parent from Hillcrest Elementary School added, "I like the program a lot. The help keep my kid out of trouble but active, and help him with his studies every day."
