Proceeds Will Help Support Junior League's Mission of Community Support and Voluntarism
On Saturday, April 12, the Junior League of Pasadena, Inc. (JLP) will host their first annual benefit luncheon, Simply Speaking, at the University Club of Pasadena. The event will highlight guest speaker and organizational expert Peter Walsh, star of the popular TLC network TV program "Clean Sweep" and author of several best-selling books on clutter and organization. The event will feature a seated lunch, silent auction and a donation drawing.
In addition, the 2014 recipient of the Nancy Reed Payne Achievement Award will be announced acknowledging a sustaining member for her exceptional contribution and years of dedication to the Junior League and to her community. Simply Speaking luncheon tickets can be purchased at $125 for general seating or $175 for preferred seating. All funds raised through the event will directly benefit the Junior League of Pasadena and their community partners and projects.
Founded in 1926, the Junior League of Pasadena's mission has consisted of promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women, and improving the local community. Throughout its 88-year history, the JLP has helped to create programs that leave a long-lasting impact on the Pasadena community. Past JLP projects include Kidspace Children's Museum, the docent program at the Huntington Library, and La Casita at Madison Elementary in Northwest Pasadena.

. . . Proudly Announces 29th Annual "Women of the Year" Awards and Scholarship Luncheon
The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors and Commission for Women would like to invite you to join us at our 29th Annual "Women of the Year" Awards and Scholarship Luncheon, which will take place on Monday, March 10, 2014 at the Grand Hall of the Music Center. The luncheon will begin promptly at 11:30 a.m.
The Los Angeles County Commission for Women continues to champion many important causes which include employment, gender equity, promoting access to health care for women of all ages, ending violence against women and reviewing legislation that impact the lives of women. A portion of the proceeds from these events will be used to provide education scholarships for at-risk young women.

Pasadena, CA (February 27, 2014) – Pasadena Tournament of Roses® President, Richard L. Chinen, today announced 18 of the 20 marching bands that will participate in the 126th Rose Parade, themed "Inspiring Stories." The bands hail from across the United States as well as from Denmark, Japan and Mexico and each brings an inspirational story. The two bands not yet announced will be from the universities competing in the Rose Bowl Game®. They will be added to the lineup when those schools are determined.
