"To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven. A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;...A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;" (Ecclesiastes 3:1-2, 7)
If you have time to see the Oprah Show or MTV. If you have time to watch Kobe Bryant's hoops that seem impossible as can be! If you have time to listen to the radio or watch the podcast of your favorite TV shows, then you have time to 'Let the Spirit Flow'! How do I know?
I used to be a television junky-even watching the cleanest of shows!
Can CNN, 24 hours a day be a friend?
Does ESPN, help my spiritual connection to Jesus to deepen?
I took it on the shin, and called it pure entertainment!
I was fooling myself, my friend. I was avoiding being alone with God-I know that NOW, but I didn't know that then! Why must every moment be spent crammed pack with outside lament?
All the way home, you're driving and talking on the phone.
If not, you have a CD and the kids in the rear seat, have their own DVD.
If not, then I'll prove, you have on the radio talk shows or the news. Maybe some jazz, a little reggae or the blues.
When does God get to tell you his news?
His information may be time-sensitive insight. But we relegate Him to 3 minutes in the morning and 3 at night.
Oh! We do it quite polite. We give him a narrow window for communicating and that ain't right!
And if He doesn't speak within thirty seconds, we get upset and think He's testing our plight. Be patient! Be silent before the Lord. Give God ample space to speak. It will be to our Delight!
Dear Pastor Glovioell,
I have mucho problemos! I know you will say 'Everybody have some kinda problems in life.' I need answers quick. Why doesn't God break it all down to me quickly so I can go ahead and work everything out his way? I want to know right now.
Tired of Waiting
Dear Tired of Waiting,
He'll give you enough information to make it. Depend on Him and you can take it!
His arms are not too short to save. Stand on the knowledge that you get and be brave.
The situation is never as bad as you think; or as grave.
The purpose for your life has already been paved.
Listen to the Holy Spirit, read the Word, get Godly counsel and take action on what you heard.
Paul, the apostle, writes to the believers in the city of Ephesus-read what he is praying:
"That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom of his inheritance in the saints and revelation in the knowledge of him:
"The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints." (Ephesians 1:17-18)
