COGIC PASTOR INDUCTED INTO HBCU HALL OF FAME

Elder Logan H. WestbrooksLogan H. Westbrooks, founder and owner of Source Record Company, and former CBS Records International Executive, was recently inducted into the National Black College Alumni Hall of Fame. The Ceremony took place at Hyatt Regency Atlanta during the 24th Annual Hall of Fame Conference.

After being nominated by his Alma Mater, Lincoln University of Jefferson City, Missouri, for his exceptional achievements in the field of business and industry, and his outstanding support of his community and historically Black colleges and universities, the Board of Directors of the National Black College Alumni Hall of Fame Foundation, Inc. selected him. Westbrooks stated, "This is such a tremendous honor to be inducted into the HBCU Hall

of Fame, especially amongst such distinguished company as Earl G. Graves, Jesse Hill, Jr., Willie E. Gray, Tom Joyner, and Alexis M. Herman".

In the 1970's, Westbrooks was among a new era of pioneering African American record executives who were educated, street smart, and business savvy. His accomplishments in this arena are legendary, resulting in associations with many notable entertainers and movers and shakers in the entertainment industry.

CBS Records International tapped Westbrooks to conduct market research and evaluate investment opportunities for CBS International in developing countries and all of Africa.

In doing so, he became a link between the two continents resulting in special associations with the President of Senegal, Dr. Sedar Senghor and his successor Abdou Diouf. In addition to business ventures, he served as a professor at California State University for several years and authored a book, "The Anatomy of a Record Company".

In 1977, Westbrooks was appointed Ambassador for Africa for the Annual African Music Festival for Education in Senegal, West Africa, and has been featured in numerous documentaries on soul music. In 2007, he appeared on the PBS production, "Respect Yourself", which documents the origin of the Stax's record label.

Logan Westbrooks resides in Sherman Oaks, California with his wife Geri.
