Cooking Relatively Easy and Healthy Summer Recipes

Part Three of a Four Part Series
Week Three: Energize!

Start your day off right! A healthy breakfast gives you the energy to kick start your day, helps you maintain a healthy weight, and gives your brain the fuel it needs. However, because of our busy schedules people often pick up pop tarts or doughnuts instead of making a breakfast that your body will thank you for later.

Here is my favorite convenient and healthy recipe that I highly recommend: Overnight Oatmeal - Ife

Ingredients

1/2 c. rolled oats
1/2 c. unsweetened almond milk
1/2 c. mango, diced
1 tbsp. shredded coconut
1 1/2 tbsp. agave nectar or maple syrup
Add chia or hemp seeds for extra nutrition

Instructions

Stir together all ingredients in a resealable jar or bowl.

Cover and refrigerate overnight.

Stir before serving and add additional milk (only for a thinner consistency) and agave nectar, if desired.

Feel free to double the recipe WHEN (or if) you try it, you'll really like it.

Oatmeal is healthy and filling and, with the right toppings and condiments, is absolutely delicious!

Grab a spoon, and add some extra fruit, nuts or granola on the side and you'll be ready to go. 

You can also change the mango's to your favorite fruit.
