(Los Angeles, CA – January 15, 2013) -- Crystal Chavis, an up and coming 17-year old singer from Inglewood, California has been asked to sing the National Anthem at the Lakers v. Utah Jazz game at the Los Angeles Staples Center on Friday, January 25th in front of crowd of 20,000 spectators. Born and raised in Inglewood, Crystal is currently an 11th grade student at City Honors College Prepatory Charter High School who has been singing since the age of five.
Crystal got her first taste of entertaining at the age of 3-weeks old when she was chosen for a national Kodak commercial. She booked her second national commercial (for Fidelity Financial Investments) at 7-weeks of age and went on to be featured in commercials for State Farm, Jeep and iCare Foster Care Foundation, a non-profit organization founded by her mentor, legendary music producer, Kashif.
On YouTube, Crystal has reached over 19,000 views, has a growing fan base on all social networks and most recently received kudos from singer Sean Kingston's team who referred to her as "the next big artist of our time" as well as from teen singing sensation Jasmine Villegas who was impressed with Crystal's vocal ability on a cover of one of her songs.
