Assemblymember Isadore Hall, III released the following statement on the passing of Mervyn Malcolm Dymally.
"For decades, Mervyn Dymally served California with an unwavering passion and commitment. Merv's legacy helped open the doors of opportunity for his and future generations and his spirit will live on in the lives of the many leaders he inspired. Our state and country are a better place because of his lifetime of work. I am honored to have called him my friend and mentor. My thoughts and prayers are with his family."
A former Congressman, Lt. Governor, State Senator and Assemblymember, Dymally passed away on Sunday, October 7, 2012 at the age of 86. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Alice Gueno Dymally; his daughter, Lynn, his son, Mark and three sisters. Dymally preceded Assemblymember Hall representing the 52nd Assembly District from 2002 to 2008.
