To Present 'A Financial Independence Workshop for Survivors of Domestic Violence' During Their Annual 'Week Without Violence'
The YWCA Pasadena-Foothill Valley teams up with Wells Fargo and VH1 Actress LisaRaye to present 'A Financial Independence Workshop for Survivors of Domestic Violence' during their annual 'Week Without Violence'. . .
September 25, 2012 – (Pasadena, CA) – The YWCA Pasadena-Foothill Valley has teamed up with Wells Fargo and LisaRaye to present a financial literacy workshop for survivors of Domestic Violence entitled: 'Stronger than the Abuser: Mentally, Emotionally and Financially'. The workshop will take place during the YWCA's annual Week Without Violence on Tuesday, October 16th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the YWCA facility located at 1200 North Fair Oaks Avenue, Pasadena, CA.
"We are excited to have LisaRaye as our guest speaker for this workshop. We think her story will resonate with so many women and empower them to become mentally, emotionally and financially independent," says Karen Draine, Program Manager at the YWCA Pasadena-Foothill Valley.
Actress LisaRaye is an entertainer, astute businesswoman, philanthropist, executive director and former First Lady. She currently has a hit sitcom on VH1 entitled, "Single Ladies," which is in its second season.
LisaRaye is a spokeswoman for women's rights and is an advocate for independence. LisaRaye will share her story about the importance of woman being finanically independent.
In addition to hosting this two-hour workshop, LisaRaye will be shooting a PSA as a call to action for support of the YWCA's Week Without Violence.
