Easter Seals presented the award and other honors during the group's annual Legislative Awards Dinner May 18 in Sacramento.
Sen. Liu, D-La Cañada-Flintridge, has authored SB 110 to prevent crimes against the disabled and elderly. She also introduced SB 383, which improves screening of toddlers for Autism Spectrum Disorders. Research shows that early intervention can provide lifelong benefits for autistic youth.

Liu represents nearly 850,000 people in the 21st Senate District, which includes Burbank, Glendale, Pasadena, La Cañada Flintridge, San Gabriel, Temple City, and several City of Los Angeles communities.
