“And what more shall I say? I do not have time to tell about Gideon, Barak, Samson, Jephthah, David, Samuel and the prophets who through faith conquered kingdoms, administered justice, and gained what was promised; who shut the mouths of lions, quenched the fury of the fl ames, and escaped the edge of the sword; whose weakness was turned to strength; and who became powerful in battle and routed foreign armies.” (Hebrews 11:32-34 NIV)
Dear Pastor Glovioell,
(I am a longtime reader of your column. I love your godly advice: Please read below)
How can I state the tragedy of moving away?
I went over and over it in my mind; but I need to escape.
Transfixed by the horrors that daily came into play!
Life was traumatic; there was no other way!
It wasn’t me that made it that way!
I was abused and in disarray!
The Bible showed me how valuable I am, and I was transformed that day!
No longer would I allow my fears to get in the way!
I am worth having peace in my life each and every day!
No brutal man will make me stay, and say it’s OK! I woke up to the beauty of me! I’m a child of Jesus Christ, the King!
I don’t deserve those fi st swings!
Yes, today, I walked away.
As I headed across the fl oor, I became weak and tears started to pour.
But God, Almighty said—“No more!”
“You weren’t created for these berates and malicious outpours!”
“My daughter, have faith and walk out that door!”

“As it is written: "For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered." No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 8:36- 39 NIV)
