Women in Action held their 38th anniversary celebration at 1st AME Zion Church, Pasadena, CA to celebrate their many years of dedicated service. Women in Action formed in 1971 as a non profit

action group dedicated to a concerted effort to improve conditions for Black members of the Pasadena/Altadena area. It is community oriented; encompassing the needs of community participation and community representation in civic and governmental organizations.
Since their incorporation in 1971 they have worked to fulfill their goals in many ways. Women in Action have sponsored many scholarships and other community forums. Women in Action is preparing for their 36th annual Jackie Robinson Merit Award Luncheon, which will be held at the La Canada Flintridge Country Club on June 6, 2009. The Keynote speaker is Michael J.
