March Issue: Earning your Arc
In college, one thing that you will constantly be doing is writing essays. One of my classes discussed arcs in films. An arc is the part of a story when a character reaches a new scope in their life, something great occurs and they peak. I think in life we all have those moments leading up to a bigger moment in life. The journey and path you take in life is up to you and you should not compare your journey to anyone else. There is a finish line that you will have to cross, but it is yours and yours alone. Sometimes to cross the finish line, you have to draw your own. Finding shortcuts to temporary happiness can permanently cheapen your value. Friendships and relationships that are demeaning does not help you arc in life.
In the same way that Christianity is not something that you do, but who you are. Earning your arc is something that everyone should access. You are the star of your own story so don’t let it end on a cliff hanger. The best way to earn your arc is to constantly plug your dream into every outlet that can represent it.
Do not be afraid to revisit older platforms to promote yourself. Success lies within the power of bridges, not barriers. You have to remain creative, inspired to come up with new ideas and ways to push your goals; and unashamedly remain convinced that you were destined to achieve greatness.
